Bizarre party fighting game with crabs

Fight Crab 2 is a premium action title coming from developer Calappa Games. It is the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MMO party fighting game, Fight Crab. In it, players will yet again engage in epic all-out battles with others mounting giant crabs armed to the gills with all kinds of weapons.

Compared to the first Fight Crab game, Fight Crab 2 retains the simple yet engaging gameplay of its predecessor while introducing some welcome improvements to visuals. It also introduces a new single-player career mode that lets players train their crabs with satisfying progression.

Crab mentality

The first Fight Crab game was a bit of an anomaly with it being such a surprise hit with fans despite its initial bizarreness. It's one of those pick-up-and-play games meant to be experienced and enjoyed with other players, and things can get pretty wacky and competitive, too. Now, there's a sequel in the form of Fight Crab 2, and it brings some nice improvements to the original.

Aside from the welcome improvements to graphics, Fight Crab 2 does not stray far from the tried and tested formula of its predecessor. It still has the same easy-to-learn yet hard-to-master gameplay that makes it great for just about anyone. The new single-player career mode lets you train your crab for up to three years, getting stronger through Crab League matches and earning money for weapons.

As for multiplayer mode, there are even more wacky weapons to choose from to complement the more than 40 skills you can learn and combine in the game. The same goes for the choice of mounts and cosmetic customization options on offer. One thing omitted from the first game is the option to add AI bots for closed matches with friends. Hopefully, it gets added back again.

A worthy sequel

To sum up, Fight Crab 2 is a worthy sequel to the original that doesn't do anything drastic, and there's really no need to. You still get the same fun and chaotic gameplay, now enhanced with better graphics and even more wacky weapons to choose from. The addition of career mode is nice and all, but the game's appeal is still with its multiplayer experience.

PROS

  • Improved graphics
  • New career mode
  • More weapons to equip

CONS
